We are seeking a passionate Work Health & Safety (WHS) Assistant to join our dynamic team working at John Flynn Private Hospital.

John Flynn Private Hospital is a 354-bed acute care facility in Tugun, near Gold Coast Airport, serving the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast, and NSW Northern Rivers. It offers a wide range of services including emergency care, cardiac, surgical, cancer, maternity, paediatrics, and rehabilitation, along with allied health support through Ramsay Health Plus

We are seeking a passionate WHS Assistant to join our team, supporting the National Safety Team at a facility level.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Reporting to the WHS Coordinator, you will provide support on WHS across your facilities, working closely with the National Safety Team and the facility Executive Team to foster a strong, proactive safety culture.

Key responsibilities include assisting with:

  • Embedding and maintaining the Ramsay safety management system, templates, and documentation.
  • Investigating incidents and implementing solutions to minimise future risks.
  • Conducting risk assessments, site audits, and workplace safety training.
  • Developing and maintaining effective safety practices.
  • Preparing safety performance reports for internal stakeholders.

 

What You’ll Bring:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Holds or working towards Tertiary qualifications in WHS (Cert IV in WHS or above).
  • Experience in Work Health and Safety, preferably within the health industry or a large organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teams at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Full Australian work rights, a current Police Check & proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.

 

What You’ll Be Paid:

This is a permanent part-time position 35 hours a fortnight, reporting to the WHS Coordinator.

We offer a base annual salary of $85k - $90k ($39k- $41k pro rata) + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
