What's the role?

We are currently looking for an experienced Boiler Maker to join our team in Port Hedland. The main focus of this role will be helping keep our modern fleet of prime movers, earthmoving equipment and all mechanical equipment operational and serviced, maintained and repaired as needed in accordance with site requirements.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Carry out truck and trailer scheduled servicing, maintenance and inspections
• Maintain fleet paper trail on servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Carry out repairs as directed and parts change outs
• Attend fleet roadside breakdowns
• Communicate effectively with drivers and plant operators
• Order parts using order numbers and listed suppliers
• Maintenance of company vehicles and mechanical aids i
• maintenance schedule and operating manuals/procedures.
• Identify and record deficiencies relating to products and services.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

• Boilermaker Trade Certification
• Fabrication Trade and welding qualifications or similar
• Experience working with Heavy Duty Equipment
• Experience in a heavy transport or mining industries (highly regarded)
• Heavy duty work on buckets welding and G.E.T replacement and repairs
• Trailer buildering or body building fabrication experience
• Ability to read & interpret drawings and work to OEM design specs for repairs
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to work safely in a regulated environment
• Have an adequate National Police Clearance Certificate
• Have an adequate Traffic History Report
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people
• Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution
• Ability to work well within a team environment
