About the role

Position: AO Inspector

Location: Victoria Dock, West Melbourne

Status: Full Time

Duties

  • inspecting grain and seed for export compliance and completing correct documentation
  • Inspecting cotton for export compliance and completing correct documentation
  • Inspecting empty containers for export and completing correct documentation
  • Booking and assisting with import biosecurity inspections
  • Performing tailgate inspections
  • Booking fumigations for import and export
  • Assisting the department with any biosecurity concerns
  • Ensuring that all biosecurity processes and requirements are within certificate guidelines
  • Being involved in any import and export auditing for Qube sites in Melbourne
  • Ensuring that all Border Force requirements are adhered to
  • Liaising with Border Force where required

About You

  • DAFF approved AO inspector (Authorised Officer) with the ability to inspect grain and seed, cotton and empty containers for export.
  • Sound computer knowledge and able to pick up new computer systems quickly
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable, team player, with a can-do attitude
  • Strong data entry and accuracy
  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organisation skills
  • Focused and compliant with all safe work practices
