ABOUT THE ROLE
The Material Controller is responsible for executing materials management processes. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the Quality Inspection team, ensuring supplied materials meet required standards through Quality Assurance support and associated checks.
The role encompasses a range of essential logistics and inventory management tasks, including vessel manifesting, material receipt, storage, and order kitting. Responsibilities also include handling returns, repairable items, and disposals, while ensuring adherence to Quality Assurance standards. Additionally, the position plays a critical role in maintaining warehouse efficiency by upholding stock accuracy, optimising material availability, and reporting key operational data.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage inbound and outbound material flow, ensuring timely receipt, storage, picking, and shipment.
- Maintain stock accuracy and warehouse health to optimise material availability.
- Verify and update material databases and reporting tools.
- Ensure Quality Assurance compliance, inspecting materials for discrepancies and coordinating resolutions.
- Oversee returns, disposals, and repairable stock handling.
- Review job specific documentation, including reports and certificates, to ensure material compliance
- Understand the concept of QA and be able to perform in all aspect of Quality Assurance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Car)
- Current Forklift Licence (LF)
- Experience in Warehousing (Desirable)
- Dangerous Goods Awareness (Desirable)
- IMDG (International Marine Dangerous Goods) (Desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of applicable standards and legislation for dangerous goods handling, storage, and transport (Desirable)
- Current first aid certificate (Desirable)
- High risk dogman ticket (Desirable)
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation relating to load restraints. (Desirable)
- Experience in SAP will be highly regarded, as will knowledge of other inventory and work order management systems.
