Milestones Early Learning Smithfield Welcome a passionate and experienced Cook to join our vibrant 130-place Early Childhood Education Centre. With two fully equipped kitchens and a fun, supportive team, this is a great opportunity for someone who loves creating nutritious meals for young children.
You will be prepared to cook healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks daily, work across two kitchens with the support of a collaborative team and cater for dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences, whilst maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment in line with food safety standards. Engage with educators and young children to make mealtimes a positive experience.
If you have previous experience cooking and creating meals for young children and hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and/or hold a Certificate III in Cookery or Hospitality, then we would love to hear from you.

About you
- Efficient and capable cook
- Able to prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages
- Experienced in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management and budget control
- Strict about complying with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards
- Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs
- Keen to participate in the early educational opportunities of teaching children about healthy food by sharing in lessons and family events
You already have
- Current Food Safety and Handlers (Health and Community) Certificate
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery / equivalent (desirable)
- Experience in an early childhood setting
- Reliable transport to and from our centre
- Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate
