The Role
Working as the Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and support across the Group. You will work closely with operational leadership, senior stakeholders, and external parties to ensure the organisation operates within legal and regulatory frameworks. This role will suit a pro-active, commercially-minded and solutions-focused legal professional who thrives on navigating complex legal matters in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide sound legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, including commercial contracts, compliance, and risk management.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company’s interests and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including privacy, data protection, and consumer law.
- Support the business in managing disputes, litigation, and investigations, including liaising with external legal counsel where required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and implement best practices for legal compliance and risk mitigation.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, advising senior leadership on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
- Develop and deliver training to internal teams on legal and compliance matters to promote awareness and understanding.
- Build strong relationships with external legal advisors, regulators, and industry bodies.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and proactive legal professional who can balance strategic thinking with practical solutions. You will bring a commercial mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex issues with confidence.
Key Requirements
- A qualified legal professional with 4 of post-qualification experience, ideally within a commercial or corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, regulatory compliance, and risk management principles.
- Experience in the contact centre/BPO industry or a similar fast-paced, client-focused environment is advantageous.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- A proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- A commitment to upholding integrity, confidentiality, and professional standards.
