JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director for the Office of Student Care and Concern, the Administrative Program Support 2 position independently coordinates and provides assistance in handling both administrative and case management matters for the Office of Student Care and Concern. This staff member will be expected to regularly exercise independent judgment within established practice and policy and to independently resolve a wide variety of administrative problems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative support to and assist in managing Student Care Team cases.
- Meet with Care students and provide case management for lower-level care individual cases.
- Coordinate the management of care team meetings, trainings, and workshops.
- Manage office operations and traffic, including phone calls, appointments, and emails.
- Collect and analyze data and information on student care team cases.
- Assist staff, faculty, parents, and students with questions regarding care team referrals and procedures.
- Compile and maintain a collection of resource materials and program information.
- Assist in presentations, training, and conference planning.
- Performs related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current UConn employee.
- Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and regularly exercise judgment regarding a wide variety of administrative matters.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience communicating clearly and effectively in both oral and written formats.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working in case management in a higher education environment.
- Experience with threat assessment in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated use of Maxient System.
- Demonstrate experience using Microsoft Office Suite or related applications.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time permanent position. The University offers a competitive salary, and outstanding benefits, including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's background and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
