Job Description

Provides support to safeguard and allow for sound management of Virginia Tech’s asset investments. This position reviews reports to identify new equipment that needs tracking using a barcode, schedules appointments with university employees to place barcodes on equipment, goes into the field to affix asset tabs on equipment, enters asset information into the fixed asset system, assists with physical inventories, and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience using email
• Data entry experience
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively and diplomatically work with various levels of faculty, staff and students
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
• Strong computer proficiency utilizing applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook
• Equipment inventory experience
