Job Description

The Associate Director for Housing Services is responsible for the direction, organization, and administration of key housing services functions, with primary oversight of occupancy management and desk operations. This position provides leadership for the housing contract and assignment processes, residential front desk services, and associated administrative systems within a large, complex residential system.

Working in collaboration with the director and departmental leadership team, the Associate Director supports strategic planning, policy development, and operational execution to ensure efficient, compliant, and student-centered housing services. This role supervises professional and student staff, manages critical systems and processes, and maintains strong partnerships with university stakeholders to enhance service delivery and the student residential experience.

The Associate Director contributes to a culture of excellence and innovation, and supports the broader mission of Housing Services through data-informed decision-making, operational stewardship, and commitment to student success.

Here’s what you need to know about the role:

1) You'll be joining the Housing Services team; a department centered on administrative excellence for the on-campus residential experience.

2) You'll be reporting to the Director of Housing Services, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.

3) You'll be responsible for the occupancy management and desk operations functional areas.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Business, Public Administration, or related field; or Bachelor’s with equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in housing operations (occupancy management, assignments, contracts, or related areas).
• Experience supervising professional staff.
• Experience with database systems and reporting tools; familiarity with housing management systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of housing compliance regulations and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with StarRez housing software.
• Experience with SQL, data analytics, and reporting tools.
• Experience in a large, complex university housing system.

Additional Information

Work Schedule: Non-traditional, including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as a driving check with a safe driving record.
