Job Description
The College Access Collaborative (CAC) Program Assistant will provide administrative, planning, and program support to the CAC team. CAC aims to facilitate college access and success for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Using a multifaceted approach that includes college awareness workshops, one-on-one coaching, enrollment assistance, academic support, and academic counseling, the CAC team helps to illuminate the pathway to college for CAC partner schools and organizations. The Program Assistant will collaborate with campus and community colleagues to plan and implement on- and off-campus college access programs. Working with pre-college constituents, their families and advocates will require the Program Assistant to:
- Present high-impact college information workshops for students and parents.
- Assist with the implementation of college access programming including, but not limited to: working with College Access undergraduate student ambassadors, academic counseling for middle school and high school students, college preparation and early awareness workshops, and college visits for students and families.
- Provide individual and group counseling and college application assistance to high school families.
- Develop and maintain detailed records of participants' involvement and progress.
- Enter student file data into data tracking system (Slate) weekly.
- Promote college awareness through marketing, outreach, and coordination with campus and community partners.
- Collaborate with community partners to further develop college awareness activities. Travel to engage with constituents and partners regionally and state-wide to implement programming.
- Evening and weekend hours are required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a professional office environment providing program support.
- Experience working with disadvantaged youth, particularly those who are low-income and/or face barriers to success.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or other credential related to education, or a combination of education and experience to be successful in the role.
- Experience working with secondary schools.
