Job Description
The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a collaborative, analytical, and customer-focused professional to serve as a Hospital Systems Analyst. This position supports the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Equine Medical Center, and Animal Cancer Care and Research Center by ensuring effective support and continuous improvement of hospital information systems and business processes.
The successful candidate will work closely with clinical, administrative, financial, and technology teams to provide system support, data analysis, training, business process improvement, and operational reporting. This position serves as a key resource for end users and helps ensure the College's hospital information systems support high-quality patient care, efficient business operations, and informed decision-making.
Required Qualifications
• Associate's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively train and educate users with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Strong customer service orientation and commitment to supporting organizational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or related field.
• Experience supporting hospital, healthcare, veterinary, or medical information systems.
• Experience working with accounting, billing, or financial systems and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational database systems.
• Experience creating operational reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Experience with process improvement, workflow analysis, and change management.
• Experience with inventory management or asset tracking systems.
