Job Description

The Office of the University Registrar is looking for an individual to join our team as a Curriculum Management Analyst. As a member of our team you will play a critical role in supporting the university's Academic Governance function through the review, processing, and maintenance of undergraduate and graduate curriculum actions.  This position reviews curriculum proposals and provides procedural guidance to faculty, staff, and academic departments regarding curriculum governance processes and curriculum management systems.

Important points:

1) You will be joining the Office of the University Registrar: a department dedicated to assisting students in navigating their academic journey at Virginia Tech from admission to beyond graduation.

2) You will report directly to the Curriculum Management Coordinator. This position is a regular, calendar-year staff appointment.

3) Your primary responsibilities will encompass reviewing curriculum proposals and providing procedural guidance to faculty, staff, and academic departments regarding curriculum governance processes and curriculum management systems. The Analyst contributes to the efficient operation of the Academic Governance unit by ensuring the integrity of curriculum records, supporting governance activities, and providing responsive customer service within established university policies, procedures, and governance standards.

5) The salary of this position is commensurate with experience up to an expected budget max of $48,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, and retirement options.

Required Qualifications

Administrative support experience in a professional or academic office setting. Strong computer skills in areas such as data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, database applications, and electronic forms. Proficiency with current software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to prioritize and process work while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact respectfully and comfortably with individuals in a diverse, multicultural environment. Must have excellent organization skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision and adhere to process schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a related academic environment. Experience recording and preparing meeting minutes and reports. Experience working with academic course and/or program information. Experience performing data entry and retrieval using a largescale relational database, such as Banner. Experience interpreting and explaining policies and procedures.
