Job Summary:

The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/part-time Didactic Adjunct Instructor, Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality didactic instruction to DNP students in an online learning environment.
  • Develop, update, and facilitate course content that aligns with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
  • Engage students through synchronous and asynchronous teaching methods.
  • Provide timely feedback, academic support, and mentorship to graduate-level learners.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to ensure consistent and effective curriculum delivery.
  • Participate in required faculty meetings, training, and evaluation processes (virtually).
  • Assists in the development of new clinical leadership DNP Track.

Required Qualifications:

  • New York State Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner License.
  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing or a related field (DNP, PhD, EdD).
  • Demonstrated executive /senior leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice, advanced clinical concepts, and doctoral-level academic expectations.
  • Prior teaching experience in leadership and policy with management systems (LMS).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current advanced practice certification.
  • Record of scholarly work, practice leadership, or contributions to nursing education.
