Title: Service Supervisor

Position Purpose:

The Service Supervisor position provides front line support to the student dining component of the operation and assists in other areas as necessary.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise daily front-of-house operations in the dining facility, ensuring smooth service flow, station readiness, and prompt issue resolution.
  • Manage shift staffing by assigning duty stations, organizing schedules, and coordinating employee meal breaks to maintain full coverage.
  • Train, onboard, and mentor front-of-house staff on equipment operation, dining room standards, and service protocols.
  • Direct line staff across key operational roles, including access management (door monitoring, transaction processing, student entry), beverage station upkeep, and dining area inventory stocking.
  • Enforce strict adherence to food safety, sanitation guidelines, and health code regulations across all dining and servery areas.
  • Monitor compliance with internal food use, portion control, and inventory policies.
  • Champion workplace safety standards, maintaining high team awareness and ensuring all incident/injury reports are filed within 24 hours.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service standards, fostering a welcoming, clean, and responsive environment for students, staff, and guests.
  • Oversee dining room presentation, ensuring stations, tables, and chairs are consistently sanitized, stocked, and reset.
  • Coordinate front-of-house promotional materials, including rotating table announcements and signage.
  • Champion campus environmental initiatives by overseeing effective waste reduction, composting, and recycling practices.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive workplace culture built on open two-way communication and appreciation for diversity.
  • Represent front-of-house operations at monthly department town meetings, Manager-on-Duty (MOD) briefings, and sector alignment sessions.
  • Provide cross-functional support to other dining, catering, or event operational areas as business needs dictate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • High School diploma
  • Driver's license required
  • Serve Safe certification preferred

Experience

  • Previous food service experience.
  • Previous experience in a collegiate food service environment desired.

Hiring Range:  The hiring range for this position is $19.64 to $24.54. Placement within the range depends on experience and other factors. This position may be eligible for shift differential pay of $.50 dependent upon assigned shifts.
