About the role
Reporting to the Residential Manager, you will lead and manage staff and resources efficiently to deliver the highest quality and safety in food services.
Mealtimes are very important to residents, often a time they look forward to, so continuous improvement in the meals we offer is vital. You will need to speak directly to our residents, gaining their feedback and making adjustments as necessary.
Your creativity with food and expertise in dining environments make this a unique opportunity to enrich the lives of our residents.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing commercial cooking operations & staff supervision
- Rostering, ordering, invoicing & auditing
- Stock control, preparing menus, adhering to the budget
- Ensuring high quality presentation of all meals to residents
- Mid-High quantity cooking as required for leave cover
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role preferably within aged care
- Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery or equivalent essential
- Applied knowledge of HACCP food safety principles
- Sound experience in kitchen management, effective staff leadership, staff development, financial control, and customer service
- Sound knowledge and experience in the preparation of menus in accordance with dietary requirements
