Quality Engineer

Purpose:
The Quality Engineer will lead efforts in assessing and mitigating risks, solving quality challenges, and implementing changes to improve engineering efficiency. This role will focus on developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality, while also coaching developers on quality engineering practices.
Primary Accountabilities & Objectives:
The Quality Engineer's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Creating test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Developing and maintaining automated test cases and test frameworks.
- Driving quality as an end-to-end responsibility across the team.
- Coordinating with product and engineering teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
- Coaching developers on test automation and testing practices.
- Collaborating with other teams on automation initiatives (e.g., data preparation, environment setup).
- Delivering quality reporting and dashboards to enhance visibility and transparency.
- Identifying and remediating quality and process limitations.
- Contributing to continuous improvement efforts for test quality through reviews and recommendations.
- Assisting with development duties as needed.

Essential Experience:
- Over 10 years of experience in application, system integration, API, and E2E testing for web applications.
- 4+ years of experience with JavaScript-based test automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Jest.
- Experience with API testing frameworks such as Postman, Selenium.
- Programming expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience adding and maintaining automation tests and quality gates in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members on quality engineering practices and processes.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and reporting on test efforts for projects.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with performance and load testing.
- Familiarity with the Quality Assistance model.
- ISTQB Certification.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Splunk and New Relic.
- Experience with large-scale websites and e-commerce.
- Experience in the travel industry.
