Overview

Overview

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia.  We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. 

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

Metropolitan Youth Health provides free clinical health services (primarily for physical health issues) to young people aged 12-25, with a focus on under 18 years, in the Adelaide metropolitan-wide community.

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the HARTSS team as Senior Aboriginal Clinical Health Worker on a Full Time, Ongoing Permanent contract. This role can be based at either Elizabeth, Angle Park or Christies Beach.  

As Senior Aboriginal Clinical Health Worker, you will:

  • Plan, develop and manage the delivery of high level specialised clinical health care to Aboriginal young people and their families, within a youth health and multi-disciplinary context.
  • Provide high level care within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Support and guide team members on culturally appropriate interventions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent
  • Registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia
  • A high level of initiative and creativity
  • Experience in conducting research, including accurately documenting work undertaken, and delivering clear and effective written reports
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families
