      We are seeking enthusiastic, passionate and energetic Clinical Nurses to join our state first Geriatrics in the Home Service. The service was established in 2018 and since its inception has grown from 8 beds to 35, experiencing significant growth. Clinicians with a genuine interest in bettering the lives of Older People and providing expert clinical care in their own homes are strongly encouraged to apply.

      The GITH Service is made up of a dynamic multidisciplinary team who all work together to achieve a shared goal- optimising care for Older People in their own environment. Our service is committed to providing best practice care that supports consumer choice and celebrates individuality in ageing. We deliver innovative, holistic, person-centred care to a diverse group of Geriatric clients. We promote ageing with dignity, respect and compassion through valuing patients time, supportive communication and shared decision making.       The autonomous role of Clinical Nurse provides opportunity for further learning and upskilling into other senior nursing roles such as Geriatric Nurse Consultant. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to experience working in new community based Geriatric Services that are due to launch later in 2024.

      About the Role:

      An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Clinical Nurse within the Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Division.

      Provide nursing and/or midwifery services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.

      Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

      The Clinical Nurse role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however, employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.

      To be eligible for this position, you must be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
