About the Role: 

A great opportunity to join the Medical Oncology team as a Advanced Trainee, Medical Oncology Fellow. As an Advanced Trainee, Medical Oncology fellow you will be working in a training capacity, you will contribute to the clinical management of Cancer Services clinical trial patients to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. You will participate in multidisciplinary cancer care in collaboration with other units within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) and units treating cancer within other functional departments in the hospital.

Some of the tasks involved in this role are:

  • Ensuring the appropriate documentation of clinical care in patients’ medical records and ensuring the timely provision of discharge summaries, written specialist opinions and requested medical reports.
  • Taking part in relevant multidisciplinary meetings, you will have a commitment to inpatient and ambulatory care, research, education and teaching in the field of Medical Oncology.
  • Develop research protocols, participate in co-investigator requirements of existing studies
    Analyse, develop and contribute to publications generated from research activity within the unit.
  • Maintain high standard care of both inpatient and outpatient setting.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration
  • You will demonstrate clinical experience appropriate to your year of training, and possess sound knowledge of clinical trials
  • A team player who can work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment, you will be adaptable to change and demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality medical care to cancer patients.
