  • Base Salary Range:
    • RN/M2C | $84,870 - $107,240 p.a 
    • AHP2 | $88,255 - $102,240 p.a 
  • In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading, and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging). The classification RN/M may also be eligible for Zone Allowance and once off Incidental Payment (conditions apply), and Professional Development Allowance.

Site and Service:

Community Mental Health Team

The Community Mental Health Teams are located at both Port Augusta and Whyalla, providing specialised one-to-one counselling, group work, care coordination and health promotional activities to promote mental, emotional, physical, and social health and wellbeing. Workers provide information, education, counselling and support to adults, families and carers whose lives are affected by mental health issues. There are also specialist youth mental health clinicians based in the region and access to specialist older persons mental health services.

Relocation and Accommodation Assistance:

This position is regionally based and can be located in any of our health service facilities, with a preference for Whyalla or Port Augusta. However, the specific location is negotiable depending on the successful candidate.

 

AHP Support and Training:

  • Supervision – as per the Regional LHN Allied Health Supervision Framework
  • Access to Professional Development funding
  • Scholarships may be available to undertake a Certificate of Rural General Practice/Graduate Diploma of Rural Generalist Practice via the Allied Health Rural Generalist Pathway (AHRGP) Rural Generalist Program - JCU Australia
  • Access to contextual Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training (specific to the region) and access to Aboriginal Liaison Officers and Aboriginal Health Practitioners
  • Links with Rural and Remote Mental Health Services – for useful resources and professional support and/or Clinical Governance

  • Occupational Therapist: Leverage your professional competence to craft personalized services that promote well-being and independence, fostering a supportive environment for consumers and their families.

  • Psychologist: Utilize your specialized knowledge to develop and execute strategies that address mental health needs within the Local Health Network, ensuring effective and integrated care for individuals in the community.

  • Social Worker: Apply your clinical acumen to meticulously plan and assess a diverse array of services that cater to the complex needs of consumers, facilitating access to vital resources within the Local Health Network and beyond.

About you:

RN/M2C

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Must hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in Mental Health practice.

AHP2

Occupational Therapist

  • Must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and as a regulated profession be eligible for registration as an occupational therapist in Australia.

Psychologist

  • Must hold general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. This normally requires at least an Honours Degree in Psychology and subsequent completion of 2 years of Board approved supervision and training as a Provisional Psychologist, either by completion of an approved Psychology postgraduate degree or in a Board approved psychology internship, or an equivalent qualification as determined by the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Clinical endorsement with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligible and willing to participate in AHPRA Clinical Psychology Registrar Program is desirable.

Social Worker

  • Must hold a recognised qualification within the Social Work profession and be eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Must have participated on ongoing professional development in line with AASW guidelines.
