Exciting Opportunity: Clinical Midwife Facilitator for Limestone Coast Local Health Network! 

Are you a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse/Midwife with a passion for nurturing talent and advancing clinical practice? Limestone Coast Local Health Network is seeking an exceptional Clinical Midwife Facilitator to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact in our diverse healthcare settings. This position is based across Mount Gambier and Naracoorte birthing sites and may be required to provide support services across all Limestone Coast health sites. 

About the Role: As a Clinical Midwife Facilitator, you will be at the forefront of clinical excellence and professional development. You will provide comprehensive nursing and/or midwifery services while guiding and mentoring graduate midwives and students. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise and educational acumen, allowing you to foster a culture of reflective and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing and/or midwifery services across various health settings, leveraging your experience and ongoing professional development.
  • Offer face-to-face, virtual, and on-ground support to staff, including graduate midwives, and students, promoting reflective practice and problem-solving.
  • Develop and implement agreed communication and supervision plans to enhance clinical skills and practice improvement.
  • Take accountability for your own practice standards and oversee activities delegated to others, ensuring high-quality guidance and development for less experienced staff.
  • Manage a clinical education portfolio, supporting Nurse Educators, Nurse Unit Managers, and Nurse Managers in delivering impactful education services.
  • Engage in performance reviews and career development planning to align portfolio responsibilities with personal growth and organisational goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • At least 3 years full time equivalent post registration experience as a Nurse/Midwife, with a strong commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to problem solve, negotiate and support and mentor staff at various levels.
  • Accountability for high practice standards, with a track record of effective leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experience registered nurses/midwives.
  • A collaborative spirit and dedication to advancing the quality of care and practice within our health service.

This is a part time vacancy working 56 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
