About the Role

Are you passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their best mental health and recovery goals? As an Occupational Therapist with the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Mental Health Clinical Program, you will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing recovery-focused care to consumers across youth, adult, and older persons’ services. Your role will encompass delivering evidence-based assessments, reports, and interventions—both individual and group-based—as well as discharge planning that supports consumers and their families on their recovery journey. Depending on the work area, you may also undertake care coordination, playing a pivotal role in shaping positive outcomes for consumers.

In this rewarding position, you will collaborate closely with consumers, carers, and a network of professionals within CALHN and the broader community, including government and non-government organisations. Guided by the service's Model of Care and Service Plan, you will contribute to reducing discharge barriers, achieving consumer goals, and supporting long-term community integration. Through active participation in quality improvement initiatives, education, and clinical supervision, you will help drive innovation and excellence in mental health care. About You

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals and possess a strong clinical background, we would love to hear from you.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A relevant degree or equivalent qualification that qualifies you for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Experience: Proven experience in delivering comprehensive assessments and interventions, particularly in community and inpatient settings, with the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and experience in supervising students and allied health assistants.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mental health recovery principles, individualised care planning, and relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act 2009, with a focus on culturally responsive practices.
