About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS team as a Staff Specialist Paediatrician - Out of Home Care Clinic, where you will be responsible for:

  • Providing an effective and efficient general medical service within the Child Protection Unit, Division of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and Women’s and Children’s Health Network
  • Delivering medical care to outpatients in the Out of Home Care Clinic
  • Supervising paediatric trainees and supporting their professional development
  • Developing education and research portfolios to enhance medical practice and knowledge
  • Encouraging and supporting teamwork within the multidisciplinary team in the Child Protection Unit for optimal clinical service outcomes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
  • Experience in the provision of General Medicine services to clients (patients and families).
  • Experience in teaching at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with children, carers and interagency partners for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.
