About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS team as a Nurse Consultant, where you will be responsible for:

• Providing clinical nursing/midwifery expertise for individual patients, clients, groups, or populations
• Delivering clinical leadership within a specified area of practice (mental health)
• Exercising autonomy and decision-making in clinical practice
• Coordinating and leading team clinical activities and programs to improve patient, client, and service outcomes
• Providing mental health nursing care in various clinical settings
• Addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy
• Leading and coordinating patient/client care delivery within a defined ward, unit, service, or program
• Ensuring continuity, quality, and efficiency of patient/client care and flow

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
• Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
• Demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people and their families experiencing complex, acute or chronic mental illness/ trauma or a wide range of emotional and behavioural disturbance.
• Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines
