About the Role

RN-3  Are you a passionate and experienced mental health professional looking to make a real difference? We’re seeking a dedicated Nurse Consultant – Mental Health to join a dynamic and innovative SAAS Co-Responder team. This exciting role is part of a collaborative initiative between Mental Health SA and SA Ambulance Service, designed to deliver timely, community-based responses to mental health crises. You’ll play a vital role in reducing unnecessary hospital admissions by conducting comprehensive mental health risk assessments, formulating tailored care plans, and implementing home-based interventions that prioritise least restrictive practice. With a focus on early intervention and diversion, you’ll be supporting individuals at low to medium risk levels, providing an alternative to emergency department presentations or police involvement.

As a Nurse Consultant, you’ll bring your clinical expertise to the forefront—delivering direct mental health care while also guiding and supporting your nursing colleagues. Your leadership will shape best practices across the team, helping to drive improved outcomes for individuals in distress. You’ll have the opportunity to lead projects, uphold clinical standards, and contribute to meaningful change in the way mental health services are delivered across South Australia. If you’re ready to work autonomously, think innovatively, and lead with compassion, we’d love to hear from you.

AHP-3  Are you passionate about making a real difference in mental health care within the community? We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate person to join our innovative multidisciplinary team, working alongside a Paramedic and a Mental Health Clinician. This unique and rewarding role aims to provide timely, person-centred care to mental health consumers in their own environment, offering an alternative to Emergency Department presentations. Your work will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes, streamlining access to services, and reducing the pressure on emergency systems.

As part of this dynamic team, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering safe, high-quality mental health assessments, clinical interventions, and tailored referrals. Your expertise will guide critical decision-making around diagnosis, treatment plans, and pathways for ongoing care—whether that’s community follow-up, supported handover, or hospital admission. If you’re someone who thrives in a collaborative setting, values holistic care, and is driven to transform how emergency mental health services are delivered, we’d love to hear from you.
