What the opportunity involves:

Our Health Business, Cleanaway Daniels, is Australia’s leading provider of medical waste services, making a safer, sustainable future possible for the healthcare sector.

We are approaching an exciting time of positive growth and an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our Health Services Business Unit based on-site at Bibra Lakes.

You will lead the transport and fleet team with the support of fleet and transport coordinators. Your days will be highly visible within the transport and logistics department to maintain safety, compliance, service, cost efficiency, and continuous improvements.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage fleet safety, routing systems and ensure all customer servicing is up to date.

Meet objectives aligned with both customer and internal standards and management of the fleet to ensure that the service provided to the customers meets or exceeds their expectations.

Continuous management and review of transport activity, scheduling of the drivers and vehicles, and ensuring that all transport is conducted in line with statutory requirements and completed in line with the fatigue management plan.

Ensure all permits are kept up to date as required and that any maintenance, training, and other critical needs are being met.

Maximise fleet utilisation, fleet routing, and delivery schedules with truck drivers. This includes Daily/weekly & monthly planning and planning of efficient runs for drivers incorporating upcoming public holidays, overnight runs, country runs, ad hoc requests from customers and proactive planning of annual leave.

Effective and visual communication to the Driver Team on expectations and route planning for the month ahead

Apply continuous improvement methodologies for matters such as cost and improved transport.

Achievement of operational and financial key performance targets.

Build and lead a cohesive team of transport staff to ensure optimal performance and a proactive approach that consistently delivers high-performance outcomes to our clients.

 

About you:

Transport experience in a management or supervision capacity.

Demonstrated Technical and analytical ability to identify and define problems, extract key information from data to identify patterns or trends, test and verify the cause of the problem, and develop solutions to resolve the problems.

You will have demonstrated skills in relationship management coupled with a high level of written and verbal communication.

You lead from the front and have a track record of exceptional people management skills in building rapport, change strategies and setting the pace, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, people development, and performance management. 

You are tech-savvy and can pick things up quickly, proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, CRM software, and GPS systems.
