About the role:

The Business Development and Major Contracts Lead is responsible for securing new customers and revenue to Cleanaway in alignment with our overall sales and business strategy. The BDMCL must achieve profitable revenue and margin growth in line with Delegated Authority Levels (DAL’s), by developing and managing strategic tender proposals and bids in a designated region that offer bespoke solutions to customers with complex, technical and specific needs. The BDMCL is also responsible for leading the development of infrastructure and other opportunities with major municipal customers.

  • Develop and drive new business (customer/revenue and profitability growth) and re-secure existing municipal contracts.  Identify and maintain a sales pipeline of tender opportunities for new and existing municipal customers.
  • Manage the production of high-quality proposals & tender responses for submission to potential and existing clients.  Assist in business development opportunities with major municipal and contracted customers to develop new areas for revenue growth and business capability.
  • Work with Regional Managers to optimize Cleanaway’s strategic footprint and asset base.
  • Assist with the completion of the tender plan and the response forms and checklists as part of the tender process.
  • Liaise with National Tender Team for opportunities, ensuring all opportunities are appropriately reviewed and considered for bid or no bid response in a timely manner.

About you:

  • Significant experience in managing strategic projects and reporting to senior management level.
  • Proven experience & track record in securing business by way of formal Tenders & Bids to convert complex or technical prospects into profitable new business.
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyse and understand the scope of work in tender documents, or the project/program to determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
  • Preparation of operational plans, cost analysis and pricing delivery.
  • Ability to lead and manage strategic project teams to deliver defined outcomes.
  • Experience or exposure to the industrial, government, construction or commercial sectors.
