What the opportunity involves:

Our Solids Waste Service (SWS) Business is Australia’s leading provider of resource recovery services, making a safer, sustainable future possible for the Construction and Infrastructure sector.

As we celebrate an exciting time with growth, we have an opportunity for a Resource Recovery officer to join our team.

Based at Logan, you will support the Logan and Moreton Bay Municipals, delivering a range of educational activities such as workshops, presentations, and landfill tours for customers, including Councils, businesses, schools, and communities, to increase participation in waste reduction and resource recovery by coordinating and maintaining fleet-related data, systems, administration, and processes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Improve waste behaviours and recycling contamination rates through waste education programs for audiences.
  • Deliver a range of educational activities such as workshops, presentations, and landfill tours for customers, including councils, businesses, schools, and communities, to increase participation in waste reduction and resource recovery.
  • Deliver inspections and audit services, including methodology development and reporting (requires some early mornings).
  • Participate in local council community events and festivals.
  • Complete regular reporting requirements within designated timeframes.

 

 Selection Criteria:

  • A degree in any of the environmental / Sustainability studies.
  • Demonstrated passion for resource recovery or sustainability.
  • A passion to educate others through community engagement activities.
  • You have a natural flair for speaking at recycling events and proactively encouraging recycling and sustainability activities.
  • Customer service orientation, effective stakeholder management, and liaison skills backed by strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in an environment with exposure to multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong data entry skills, technical and analytical thinker with attention to detail.
  • Skilled with the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
