The Liquid Technical Services (LTS) division of Cleanaway services much more than your standard collection of household waste, it opens an abundance of opportunities. Our team supports the collection, treatment, processing, and recycling of liquid and hazardous waste, including industrial waste, grease trap waste, oily waters and used mineral and cooking oils in packaged and bulk forms.

The opportunity

Supporting our Liquid Service Technical Operational teams, within Southern NSW, you will partner with and guide on all aspects of Health and Safety management across 8 industrial processing facilities. Delivering safety plans, initiatives and priorities will be the focus of this integral role as will be ensuring compliance and risk management/mitigation.

Additionally, you will also;

  • Assist sites to apply knowledge to reduce health and safety risk and prevent injury and illness
  • Support the completion of the health and safety audit and assurance program for business area
  • Assist sites with hazard identification and risk assessment activities
  • Maintenance of current risk registers and development and assessment of effective risk controls
  • Contribute to the development and review of the HSE Management Standards
  • Lead and support rigorous health and safety incident investigations
  • Lead safety awareness and compliance activities in the region

About you

Along with your ability to partner with, build and maintain genuine working relationships with operational teams, you will be seen as a trusted health and safety professional by the business.

You will also bring:

  • A relevant qualification in workplace health and safety
  • Demonstrated experience in a health and safety role within a heavy industry environment
  • Ability to influence and drive change through health and safety initiatives and programs
  • Proven experience in blue-collar, high-risk heavy industry environments
  • A solid understanding and experience in working with hazardous chemical management
  • Sound knowledge of working in a processing environment and Process Safety.
  • Prior experience leading complex incident investigation and root cause analysis
