The Opportunity
We have a rare opportunity for a dynamic Branch Manager to lead our Central West branch and oversee operations across Bathurst, Dubbo and Mudgee.
In this role, you will oversee a diverse team of over 35 staff, including operations, administration, and subcontractors. You'll be responsible for the safe and efficient management of our branch operations, ensuring service delivery meets customer expectations and operational targets are achieved. Success in this position will rely on your ability to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and cultivate a positive and high-performing team culture.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Law.
- Oversee staff and the branch's fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are maintained and compliant with regulations.
- Coach and mentor the team, ensuring they are equipped to meet operational KPI and safety standards.
- Champion safety initiatives, investigate incidents, and build a safety-first culture within the team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage the branch’s profit and loss (P&L), focusing on cost control, financial performance, and operational results.
- Oversee the workshop and fleet maintenance activities, coordinating with third-party contractors to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and regulations.
About You
- Solid prior experience in managing operational teams within the waste or logistics industry is desirable.
- Understanding of fleet management and vehicle maintenance, with the ability to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Skilled in overseeing complex branch operations and ensuring all activities align with safety and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage a P&L, driving financial performance while overseeing operational costs and maintenance.
- Excellent ability to engage with staff, contractors, and senior management, fostering a collaborative and effective working environment.
