Cyber Security Operations Manager

The Opportunity

The Cyber Security Operations Manager role is critical to maintaining Cleanaway’s resilience against the ever-evolving cyber threat landscape. This business-critical leadership position will see you take ownership of the Cyber Security Operations team, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Cleanaway’s information assets.

You will provide frontline oversight of security operations, driving real-time monitoring, incident detection, and rapid response to minimise business disruption and regulatory exposure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and executing cybersecurity processes that enhance our ability to detect and respond to incidents, while maintaining and updating incident response plans and playbooks.
  • Reducing cyber risk by proactively monitoring internal and external threats and vulnerabilities, advising on mitigations, and tracking compliance of updates across all connected IT assets.
  • Leading security incident engagements to ensure rapid response and resolution of vulnerabilities.
  • Conducting proactive activities such as threat hunting, vulnerability and security assessments, and table-top exercises.
  • Applying contextual information from threat intelligence, asset priority, and incident data to prioritise risks and address vulnerabilities.

 

About You

A natural problem-solver, you collaborate seamlessly across all levels of the organisation. Your exceptional influencing and communication skills enable you to build a resilient system that can adapt and respond to cyber threats.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience leading a team of security professionals in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of ITSM and the ability to manage and coordinate cyber incident responses.
  • Hands-on experience with leading security tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft, ExtraHop, CrowdStrike, Qualys).
  • Experience in developing cybersecurity processes, playbooks, and threat hunting campaigns.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and security technologies such as Windows/Linux, Active Directory, M365, firewalls, Email and Web gateways, DLP, and EDR/EPP.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or security certifications (CISSP, CISM, ECSA, CEH, SANS, or equivalent) are desirable.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise-level security operations across on-premises, private, and public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or similar).
