The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Bendigo site, managing a busy municipal collections contract. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting a busy and diverse municipal contract that covers general waste, cardboard, EPA/biosecurity waste, and liquid collections.

You will lead a team of 25 (1 Administrator, 23 Drivers) and work closely with the Branch Manager to keep operations safe, compliant, efficient and customer-focused.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supervise operations and be accountable for the performance of day-to-day operational activities.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate operations staff to maintain high-performance standards and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.
  • Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and other documentation as required.
  • Conduct daily pre-starts, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to keep the team informed and focused on safety and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational optimisation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.

About You

  • Prior experience in a similar supervisory role within the waste or logistics industries is desirable.
  • Heavy rigid (HR) driver's license is preferred but not essential
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced, complex operations environment.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving operational challenges.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with experience conducting safety briefings and managing incident reports.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members and handle customer inquiries professionally.
