The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Finance Administration Officer who works accurately, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and communicates clearly across a busy organisation.
This role suits someone comfortable working independently, managing high-volume financial processing, and meeting deadlines without close supervision. You will be trusted to keep financial data accurate, follow up on issues to resolution, and proactively communicate progress and risks to stakeholders.
You will also partner with the Administration Manager on finance projects and process improvements, contributing practical ideas that improve efficiency, accuracy, and control.
Clear, confident communication is essential. You will regularly liaise with non-finance stakeholders, provide timely updates, and resolve queries professionally and straightforwardly.
What you’ll be doing
- Accurately allocate income and expenses to the correct cost centres and accounts
- Investigate and resolve unallocated income and cost items, following issues through to completion
- Prepare monthly recharge journals and support month‑end close activities
- Prepare balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations for review
- Raise purchase orders, receipt goods, and ensure all purchasing complies with internal controls
- Support finance projects and process improvements with a practical, hands‑on approach
- Maintain compliance with statutory, audit, and internal control requirements
- Work confidently with established systems, including JD Edwards (JDE) and Coupa P2P
- Communicate proactively and clearly with stakeholders at all levels of the business
About You
You are a dependable finance administration professional who takes pride in accuracy, organisation, and accountability. You are comfortable working autonomously, planning your work, and following tasks through without prompting.
You communicate clearly and professionally, particularly when explaining financial matters to non‑finance colleagues. You value clarity, structure, and practical solutions over unnecessary complexity.
You will also bring:
- Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships and support collaborative finance activities
- Solid understanding of end-to-end financial processes and willingness to learn more complex systems
- Experience assisting with the monitoring of organisational and departmental budgets
- Familiarity with accounting systems, including JDE E1, with hands‑on experience in basic account reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, data tables, and pivot tables to support financial analysis and reporting
- Highly organised with clear written and verbal communication, supporting accurate documentation and stakeholder updates
Why join Cleanaway?
