About the Role

As the Employment Pathways Specialist (First Nations), you’ll be responsible for coordinating a variety of employment pathways recruitment, training and retention programs with a focus on First Nations employment and engagement, ensuring that Cleanaway attracts and hires the best talent.

Supported by our Culture & Inclusion team, you’ll manage the dedicated First Nations Employment Pathways program stream, including maintaining existing relationships and exploring opportunities for expansion and/or improvement. You’ll also be involved in growing our people, providing culturally safe onboarding and mentoring support to First Nations early careers employees. Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Complete end-to-end recruitment for all Pathways programs within region, including Driver and Yellow Gear Academies, social enterprise recruitment, apprentices and First Nations targeted roles and programs
  • Work closely with the business to deliver contractual obligations for First Nations participation and Cleanaway’s First Nations Employment Strategy
  • Engage with First Nations communities, organisations and recruitment channels to source First Nations applicants
  • Assist the business in scoping and planning new recruitment intakes to support business outcomes, including the development of First Nations activities in customer tenders and contracts
  • Take a hands-on approach to provide culturally safe onboarding and mentoring to First Nations early careers employees
  • Participate in Cleanaway's RAP Working Group

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong cultural competency and experience in working with First Nations candidates, employees, communities, organisations and stakeholders
  • Experience in working on First Nations related programs or projects (including RAP Working Group)
  • Experience in operations, human resources, recruitment or a related field
  • Experience in working with RTOs, training providers or external recruitment agencies preferred
  • Proven ability to successfully manage the end-to-end recruitment process
  • Demonstrated experience in internal and external stakeholder management
  • Experience in being able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
