The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to support our commercial and operational teams with robust financial governance, performance reporting and insightful analysis. Partnering closely with the Commercial Business Partners and operational teams, you will provide accurate financial reporting and insights to support informed decision-making and sustainable business performance.

This is your opportunity to join a Cleanaway team with operations focused on resource recovery and circularity. Based in Brisbane, in this role, you will take ownership of balance sheet integrity and reconciliations and provide key analysis and reporting for month-end processes and budgeting, and forecasting cycles. You will deliver detailed variance analysis, develop KPI reporting frameworks and provide insights to enhance operational accountability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Partner with Commercial Business Partners and operational teams to prepare monthly financial results, budgets, and forecasts, providing analysis and insight to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Deliver financial modelling and analysis to support tenders, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Analyse financial performance, including cost allocation, profitability, volume and cost variances to identify risks and opportunities
  • Deliver key financial and KPI reporting
  • Scope to step into and act in a broader commercial capacity as required
  • Lead balance sheet review, reconciliation and fixed assets capitalisation processes for the team
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements, internal controls, and accounting standards

About You

  • Prior experience in a similar finance business partnering role within a fast-paced complex organisation.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and relevant accounting systems
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, non-technical insights
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Experience with balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
  • CA/CPA qualification is essential
