The International Full-Time Programs Advisor, Recruitment and Advising position is designed to encourage and guide applicants to complete the enrollment process in a graduate program at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. This position works closely with an external audience of applicants, admits, intended, and enrolled students and internally with Recruitment, Financial Aid, and Programs, as well as admission committee members during the application completion and yield process. This position performs functions critical for maintaining a student-focused environment dedicated to operational excellence, effective enrollment management, and applicant satisfaction with admission and enrollment services at the Pepperdine Business School.

The Advisor must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and relate well to prospective and continuing students as well as administration, faculty, and staff. The incumbent must excel in relationship-building and organizational skills, be able to multitask, work independently and as a team player, and have an aptitude for communications-focused objectives.

Must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese.


  • Provide direct oversight of the recruitment process for Graziadio; create and implement individualized recruitment campaigns; maintain ongoing communication with applicants utilizing a variety of tools (email, text messaging, and telephone) in support of enrollment, academic, and institutional goals.
  • Facilitate/host internal events, webinars, individual consultations, events with faculty and/or student/alumni presenters, admitted students day, orientation, and other related outreach efforts.
  • Assist candidates with completing their application files for committee review.
  • Monitor and communicate to deferred enrollments and wait-listed applicants.
  • Some travel required (domestic/international) to promote the Graziadio Business School program portfolio at various recruiting events/conferences. 
  • Collaborate with other university staff to create, maintain, assess and modify intervention strategies to increase student success, retention, and completion. Participate in one or two subcommittees to assist with various recruitment projects that will aid in lead generation, and event execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 years in admission, recruitment, or student services. Must be detail-oriented and results-driven with strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills. Must be customer service oriented and a team-player. Strong ability to plan and prioritize. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, familiarity with imaging systems. Must be able to quickly assimilate new software, commercial databases, portals, and web sites.

Preferred: Master's degree. 3+ years of proven track record in higher education admission, recruitment, administration, and student systems. Proven track-record showing ability to work under pressure in an education administration environment. Proficiency in Salesforce, PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, Slate, or other CRM-related tools.

This is a Regular, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
