CEMA Environmental Data Support Intern, Spring 2026

| The CEMA center within the Department of Geography & Spatial Sciences is seeking a Environmental Data Support Intern who will work closely with CEMA staff to review and analyze existing data, develop new datasets, and create visualizations for sharing with external partners and the public, in general. Most tasks will require working with various forms of digital data (e.g. CSV, TXT, JSON, netCDF) as well as analog data (e.g. weather maps) to develop a summary database that can be used for further analysis. Additional tasks will be assigned as needed and will include documentation of data and procedures, testing internal data services, and developing website content and outreach materials. GIS-based tasks may include use of ArcGIS Pro or development of StoryMaps and Dashboards in ArcOnline. Strong organizational and communication skills are desired with a preference for an individual that has a strong interest or background in Meteorology or Physical Geography and experience in programming. |

| The Delaware Sea Grant (DESG) internship offers an opportunity to dive deep into Marine Advisory Services (MAS) programs, play an integral role in their planning and implementation, and gain practical research experience. Interns will develop an understanding of the biology and ecology of submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) in Delaware and assist in efforts to support SAV recovery and restoration. |
