Will serve as the Program Advisor/Coordinator for the interdisciplinary Data Science program, manage the graduate application administration process, provide program administrative support for instructional and other program activities. 1. Serve as professional staff advisor for all Data Science (DS) Master’s (MS) student cohort(s)
*Guide students in course request and/or registration processes
*Advises students with regard to co-curricular engagement, adjustment issues and connecting to appropriate offices across Lehigh to meet needs; refers students to other Lehigh offices as appropriate
*Provide advising for course selection, academic planning and drop-add
*Answer student inquiries and resolve problems in one-on-one meetings, via e-mail and in group sessions; proactively reach out to students to foster connectedness while simultaneously developing students' independence as informed decision makers
*Maintains current knowledge of professional standards, Lehigh policies and laws and regulations relevant to advising and support services
*Conduct advising outreach and work systematically with students who may need extra support, including students seeking transfer into the DS program, those on probation and those not making expected progress towards degree completion
2. Graduate application administration
*Processes preliminary applications and notifies applicants of pre-application decisions
*Administers applications through the CollegeNet application system for the program
*Processes applications log into data system, create cover sheet for committee
*Follows-up with applicants to ensure that applications are complete and notifies of missing documentation in a timely manner
*Creates and maintains files for all applications and tracks and follows-up with applicant offers and acceptances
*Submits applicable international student information to the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) and to the English as a Second Language (ESL) office along with ESL requirements needed by applicant
*Prepares decision letters and notifies applicants of acceptance and rejections
*Other duties as assigned
3. Collaborate with other members of Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science (RCEAS) Dean’s Offices as assigned to support key events, web sites and programming for prospective and current DS students
*Assist the DS Directors during recruitment and advising events and processes
*Oversee the standardization and updating of web sites supporting the DS program
*Engage in larger DS Office updates and department activities to coordinate activities and to maintain positive organizational climate and team spirit in the DS program
4. Provide back office and logistical support for DS Capstone Projects and Internship Programs
*Develop contacts with various data science focused companies with the goal of building long lasting relationships and collaboration opportunities
*Coordinate the signing of contracts and project planning for companies acting as clients for the DS Capstone Projects
*Assist with the planning and provide logistical support for internships and other programs coordinated by the DS program
5. Coordinate and support the DS Program instructional activities
*Support recruiting processes for potential faculty and adjunct hires
*Oversee the generation and processing of adjunct contracts
*Support new faculty and adjunct hires in gaining access to needed Lehigh resources
*Under the direction of the DS Director, manage line scheduling for DS classes as required
*Coordinate with staff in various departments to enable courses as DS electives
*Coordinate with staff in academic departments and schools to arrange for DS students to have preference and priority in class registration where applicable
*Gather information as needed for the DS program, such as Course Learning Outcomes, for reporting internally and externally as needed

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s Degree in STEM preferred
One to three years related work experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service required
Ability to build, foster and maintain positive professional relationships
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, time management and sound judgment
Adept use of digital communication preferred
Solid analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
