Position Summary:       

The DSW advisor works with the DSW students after their first year until graduation, which can be up to an additional four years.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The primary reasonability of the advisor is to support the students’ research/grand challenge through individual mentoring
  • The advisor helps the student develop two scholarly papers and a presentation
  • The advisor will be part of other DSW students’ grand challenge committees
  • The advisor will work with up to 8 students annually until they graduate

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or a related field
  • Doctorate degree in social work (DSW) or related field (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in social work research and practice
  • Additional certifications or training in academic mentoring or education

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in academic research and analysis
  • Strong academic writing and editing skills
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Effective organizational and time management
  • Commitment to student success and development

Salary Range:

$30.00 - $32.05 per hour
