Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Master’s candidate in a field that relates to the responsibilities of this position such as public affairs, social work, human ecology, public health, sociology, or law.
• Experience and comfort with community engagement, interviewing, and inter-personal interaction
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with use and interpretation of descriptive data and with use of Excel
• Ability to work independently (self-directed with some guidance/support) and as part of a project team
• Employment will require a criminal background check

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES DESIRED:
• Survey data collection, management, and analysis
• Qualitative data coding and thematic analysis
• Program evaluation
• Use of Qualtrics, Google Analytics, and/or NVivo, MAXQDA
• Also interested in applicants with bilingual ability in Spanish.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Collect survey and interview data from LIFT program users and stakeholders
o Contribute to the team tasked with finalizing the survey design (i.e. review survey and provide critical and useful feedback in a group setting)
o Edit and finalize surveys in Qualtrics
o Distribute and process surveys through electronic and hard copy
o Maintain and update master database of survey responses and conduct follow-up to increase response rates.
o Organize and participate in interviews and focus groups, with the Project Evaluator, to support collection of qualitative data, with duties including communication with participants, note taking, preparation of summaries, and extraction of key themes.
o Conduct preliminary analysis of survey and interview data.
• Use Google Analytics to create descriptive summaries of LIFT on-line tool user data.
• Support other aspects of the project’s evaluation
o Create products summarizing findings (presentations, interim and final reports, journal article(s)).
o Help manage other evaluation-related tasks as needed and as time allows.
o Flexibly adapt to the data and evaluation needs as project evolves.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
On-site student cubicle available, and remote work also permissible. Data collection will occur with communities in southern Wisconsin. Project will support individual transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities for data collection, with mileage reimbursed or other transportation options.

ACCOUNTABILITY RELATIONSHIPS:
The position is accountable to the CPP Director on matters related to employment. This position is supervised by the CPP Strategic Initiatives Advisor, with direction also provided by the UW‐Extension Evaluation Specialist.
