The Athletic Facilities and Events Coordinator receives direction for all job duties and responsibilities from the Director of Facility and Events and works with all athletic facilities and events teams. This position has the primary responsibility of maintaining high-quality, safe equipment, and facilities for its users.

Duties

  • Coordinates and manages activities, events, improvements, and maintenance for all athletic facilities; responsible for the safe and clean environment of each athletic venue. Oversees the laundering of team apparel, equipment, and towels.
  • Administers game/event day operations for intercollegiate games, campus user events, and rental events. Duties include but are not limited to event set up and tear down, monitoring ingress and egress, assisting with game operations, scoreboard, sound system, and supervising student workers.
  • Communicates and coordinates with visiting teams, officials, and outside vendors hired for game day operation and management.
  • Executes administrative tasks, data entry, creating reports, facility scheduling, facility audits, reporting accidents, equipment/apparel inspection, inventory and distribution. Ensures the implementation of appropriate risk management plan; prepares required injury/incident reports; reports any facility hazards; proactively take steps to eliminate future risks.
  • Upholds the University mission through work performed. 
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Valid driver's license Possesses excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and agreeably under pressure; works independently and works well with others.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with athletic staff, coaching staff, and other university staff.
  • Ability to follow University, NCAA, and conference policies, and procedures, including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to; walking, walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in confined space, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying loads up to 50 pounds (unassisted) and 75 pounds (with assistance).

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with athletic events and/or facility operations.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with various athletic equipment; scoreboards, sound systems, laundry, etc.

This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
