Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Malibu Campus
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist provides strategic leadership for campus-wide safety and environmental health programs. This position collaborates regularly with internal constituents across the University and external constituents. This position is supervised by the Director of Insurance and Risk.
Faculty and Student Support Coordinator Malibu Campus
This position manages and supports the 85+ academic law school classes that are administered through the Straus Institute each year and the faculty who teach those classes. These classes are held over 4 different terms and utilize faculty who often are commuting to teach in intensive formats from other parts of the country and around the world. This person ensures that faculty and students are given the highest level of support. This person helps faculty with all of their class related needs including book orders, syllabi, posting of class materials, copies of exercises, managing assignments, ensuring grades are submitted on time and that feedback is available for students. Since many of Straus courses are offered in the evenings and/or on weekends, this person also makes sure that faculty have support after regular business hours. This position helps faculty with travel arrangements and expense reimbursements as needed. Students rely on this person for assistance accessing class materials on Courses (and occasionally instructions on how to use other platforms), help with submitting final assignments and managing extension requests. This position also manages and supervises all of the office student workers. Straus relies heavily on students to supplement our staff and has high expectations for work output and professionalism. This position is responsible for hiring, firing, training, supervising, scheduling and distributing work for all student workers.
Office Manager Malibu Campus
Serve as the office manager to maintain the administrative operations of the School of Public Policy (SPP) and provide support to the assistant dean for administration (“assistant dean”) and full-time, visiting, and adjunct faculty; serve as Human Resources liaison; manage new hire job description development, interviews, correspondence, paperwork, and compliance; oversee campus operations and facilities requests; maintain technical aspects of SPP including update databases and build reports (Raiser’s Edge, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Access), manage technology; responsible for faculty biographies and curriculum vita, maintain class rosters, update website, place book adoption orders, oversee syllabi development and distribution, manage syllabi archives and University Academic Council course adoptions and revisions, develop class schedules, class communications, rank, tenure, and promotion packages and communication, update and maintain full-time and adjunct faculty handbooks; budget and finance responsibilities include reallocation and substantiation of all credit cards for faculty, dean, and assistant dean for administration, serve as a requester for finance, audit credit card substantiations, and train new staff on PeopleSoft finance system; manage correspondence for student disciplinary hearings, scholarship thank you letter compliance, proof and edit publications, and prepare petitions for grade changes; conduct annual tuition, fee, and ranking studies; attend and assist at SPP conferences; plan academic events; maintain day-to-day operations through management of SPP inventory, centralized supply orders, facilitate prompt and courteous responses to inquiries from callers, maintain detailed confidential records, written correspondence, and financial files; manage calendar for the assistant dean and faculty; plan and execute travel arrangements for faculty and assistant dean; serve as liaison to senior University administrators and perform other duties as assigned.
Campus Operator Malibu Campus
The Campus Operator will facilitate calls to the main Pepperdine University phone number and provide general information to callers and transfer them to the correct department or extension.
Associate Director, Communications and Public Relations Calabasas Campus
The Associate Director of Communications and Public Relations supports Pepperdine’s integrated communications initiatives aimed at strengthening Pepperdine’s brand and national reputation through communications and public relations that increase brand awareness, enrollment, fundraising, and student engagement. Integrated Marketing Communications is directly tasked with supporting the University’s mission and strategic plan by building brand equity, elevating the University’s national reputation, providing strong and consistent institutional message leadership, and implementing effective integrated marketing and communications strategies.
Associate Director of Admission Malibu Campus
The Associate Director of Admission supervises the admission counselors for Seaver College, including but not limited to, goal setting, strategies, and cultivating a thriving working culture. The Associate Director manages personnel, chairs the Admission Committee, and serves on a variety of other committees. This position has a direct role in shaping the admitted class and determining and executing enrollment goals for Seaver College. They are responsible for cultivating brand awareness and volume at the top of the recruitment funnel. This position directly supports Goals 2, 4, and 5 of the strategic plan by attracting mission-fit applicants from diverse communities who see the value of a Seaver investment. Attention to counseling students about college access and fit with the university's many offerings enhance customer service and student satisfaction, forming alumni who will in turn expand the Pepperdine family on a global scale, consistent with Goal 3.
Program Coordinator, DBA and MSOD Program Administration West LA Campus
The purpose of this position is to support the operations of the DBA and MSOD programs through excellent administrative support to the program directors, students and faculty. This position manages the event planning and financial transactions for both programs by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. This position will have a dual reporting structure to two Directors to improve and streamline administration of both programs.
