About the role

We are recruiting for a passionate and experienced Team Leader to join our Early Years Hub team in a full-time, permanent role based at the Knox Children and Family Centre in Wantirna South.

As a key member of the Early Years Leadership Team, the Team Leader Early Years Hubs oversees the day-to-day operations of the Long Day Care and Sessional Kindergarten programs, to ensure compliance with relevant Laws, Regulations, standards, approved frameworks and all Knox City Council policies and procedures, while supporting the successful integration of co-located services including MCH, Playgroup and Allied Health Services.

Working closely with the leadership team, the Team Leader helps deliver high-quality early childhood services that are child and family focused, collaborative, and responsive to community needs.

A strong commitment to child safety is essential, ensuring all practices promote the wellbeing and protection of children in line with relevant child safety standards and Council policies.

Council’s Children and Family Centres provide a home for co-located services to the community including Long Day Care, Kindergarten, Maternal Child Health services and playgroups.  Information and a virtual tour of our services can be found at Knox Children and Family Centres – Wantirna South and Bayswater | Knox

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $98,353.35 to $107,416.64 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. 

What you will need to thrive

  • Demonstrated personal values and behaviours that align with Knox Values and Behaviours
  • Applied sound knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, quality standards, and approved frameworks relating to Early Years services, including Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct processes.
  • Proven experience in managing early years services encompassing budget oversight, rostering, regulatory and organisational reporting, recruitment, and people leadership.
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Skilled in engaging and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders to build cooperation and achieve shared outcomes.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and innovation in delivering high-quality, integrated, and inclusive early years services.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, high-quality reports and deliver professional presentations.
