Staff Careers

The UFC Attendant will provide support to all areas of the University Fitness Center as needed, including the Front Desk, Weight Room, and Aquatics. The UFC attendant will also ensure the safety of all participants utilizing the fitness center.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in student, faculty, staff and students to the UAH Fitness Center
• Check ID’s, check equipment in and out, and maintain inventory
• Provide patrons information regarding recreation programs, facility events, and hours of operation
• Enforce all facility/program policies, rules and regulations
• Supervise the pool area as needed
• Communicate effectively with the Director, Assistant Director, Aquatics & Outdoor Recreation Coordinator, Shift Supervisors and fellow peers • • Communicate and interact with a culturally and behaviorally diverse campus and community population
• Perform Emergency Protocol when needed (CPR/AED or EAP actions)
• Maintain surveillance of patrons in the facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
• Ensure cleanliness of all fitness equipment including cardio machines and weight room equipment
• Ensure cleanliness of pool area
• Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Complete daily cleaning tasks in the cardio area, weight room and pool area such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting and laundry
• Report any incident of injury, theft, or broken equipment to the Supervisor on Duty

• High school education or equivalent
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must have basic computer skills

• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and/or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

$9.19 - $15.00 (FTE=$19,110 - $31,200)
