Purpose of the Position:

The Postdoctoral Research Assistant will perform comprehensive research, provide technical support and conduct gamma-ray astrophysics research.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive research and develop data analysis software for data from gamma-ray space instruments.
• Write documentation on data analysis software.
• Provide technical support operations of Fermi GBM.
• Conduct scientific research and publish results in the open literature.
Minimum Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics or Astrophysics
• 36 - 42 months (3 - 3.5 years) of full-time work experience
• Experience analyzing gamma-ray data and developing custom software for analyzing gamma- ay data
• Experience with analysis of gamma-ray data that has pulse pileup
• Working knowledge and experience with Python.
• US Citizenship is required

$ 58,600 - $ 61,792
