We're currently seeking a talented Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapy Assistant at Des Moines University, you'll play a crucial role in providing top-notch physical therapy treatments and services, while assisting with clinical education.

You'll work at both of our premier locations – the RecPlex and 3200 Grand. Our RecPlex location isn't just a clinic; it's a hub of activity, providing sports performance and rehabilitation services to athletes and community members alike.

What you’ll do:

  •  Under guidance of supervising licensed PT, acquires patient information and implements comprehensive physical therapy treatment using a variety of techniques within the PTA scope of practice. 
  • Completes documentation records on patient visits in accordance with Medicare and DMU documentation guidelines.
  • Complete isokinetic testing for pre-work screen, communicate with employer and complete associated paperwork.
  • To perform aquatic physical therapy treatments as indicated.
  • Supports physical therapy clinic operations including instruction in exercise classes and assistance with student clinical education.   

What we’re looking for:

  • Graduate from an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
  • Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred.
  • Knowledge of the operation and use of physical therapy equipment.
  • Licensed to practice as a physical therapist assistant in the state of Iowa.
