We’re seeking a passionate Wellness Specialist to support the development and growth of our integrated Wellness Center and wellness programs across both the 8025 and 3200 Grand locations. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in promoting healthy lifestyles among students, faculty, staff, and members of the broader community. As the lead nutritional coordinator and student wellness representative, you'll help design, implement, and evaluate impactful wellness initiatives—while also serving as a role model who embodies the principles of well-being.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate all nutritional content, education and services offered through the DMU Wellness Program. This includes operational management of the Groben Wellness Lab/Kitchen.
- Teach fitness classes that may include strength training, indoor cycling, aquatics, TRX, Pilates, Barre, and step aerobics in a hybrid format (Zoom & in-person).
- Coordinate all intramural programs including promotion & scheduling of facilities and staff; maintain written intramural sports policies and keep accurate records of intramural sports rosters, release forms and equipment.
- Assist with the organization, administration and follow-up of the Personal Wellness Profile (PWP) provided to all DMU students and employees.
- Assist with the design, implementation, program maintenance/data management and evaluation of wellness programs.
- Serve as the lead for Student Wellness and work with student services, clubs/organizations to deliver student wellness programs.
- Oversee and collaborate on all Student Wellness initiatives.
- Oversees the Intramurals program offered through all academic semesters.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree required in health/wellness/exercise science field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Group Fitness Instructor Certification.
- BLS Certified.
- Intramurals experience is important.
- Group Fitness Instructor Certification
- Health Coaching Certification (willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date)
- Nutritional Certification (willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date) /Registered Dietitian (preferred)

The salary range for this position is from $50,000 - $55,000, depending on experience.
