Duties

To manage and coordinate a priority project to promote and protect the wellbeing of children and young people in all Department for Education, Children and Young People settings and supporting cultural change within the organisation.

Period of Appointment

ASAP for 12 months

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:  

    1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

    a. crimes of violence
    b. sex related offences
    c. serious drug offenses
    d. crimes involving dishonesty
    e. serious traffic offences

    2. Identification check
    3. Disciplinary actions in previous employment check

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in the development and implementation of child-safe strategies and practices.
  • Current driver’s licence.
