About the Role

The Statewide Carer Liaison Officer works within this context to provide an advocacy support service for departmental foster and kinship carers, as well as providing project management support to the broader teams responsible for the Carer Engagement Strategy, recruitment, and the implementation of the Commission of Inquiry Out of Home Care recommendations. The role will maintain relationships with providers, carers and the Out of Home Care team by assisting in co-ordination, communication and stakeholder engagement activities.

Period of Appointment

ASAP for 12 Months

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1 Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences

2 Identification check
3 Disciplinary actions in previous employment check
