This position provides senior level leadership and oversees the daily operations of armed security officers providing security services to Arizona Army National Army (ARNG) facilities. Responsible for leading, managing, and site specific training for all SOIIs (Shift Supervisors) and SOIs (Security Officers) at their assigned installation and assistance in the planning, coordination and organization of programs within the Security Forces Department.
Responsibilities include:
• Oversee security guard services for all assigned facility. Responsible for leading, managing, and site specific training for all SOII’s (Shift Supervisors) and SOI’s (Security Officers) at their assigned installation. Directs Shift Supervisors and subordinate personnel towards the accomplishment of their duties, monitors corrective actions, advises the Senior Security Chief of actions taken or required.
• Oversees the interactions with tenant units to support requested security requirements for additional activities. Direct security guard services in support of the Ordinance Operations Department (OOD). Provide information to civic/public and/or government identified visitors and direct traffic management through designated traffic plans and/or parking areas consistent with force protection measures as prescribed by regulation and/or installation policies.
• Coordinates with the Security Training Officer to ensure all employees successfully complete the Initial CORE Security Training Program. Oversees the Field Training Program (FTP) at their assigned location. Spot checks employees to ensure the performance of duties is in compliance with training and policy.
• Develops, reviews, and updates security plans, procedures and processes ensuring inclusion of tenant unit security requirements. Assists in the planning, coordination and organization of programs within the Security Forces Department with the Senior Security Chief.
• Interact with foreign military and civilian nationals. Oversee technical training to be able to respond to calls for Munitions of Concern and Unexploded Ordnance.
• Support Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs at CN. Serve as range safety officer and conduct training events. Manages electronic security systems, including but not limited to; electronic guard tour, access control and KeyWatcher.
• Perform duties of Security Officer I and SOII when needed include controlling entry and egress of personnel and vehicles, via entry control point, of designated restricted area. Responding to IDS failures, shipping/ receiving of assets. Coordinating security checks and gate access for rail delivery. Reviewing and maintaining logs of access into the restricted area IAW Army regulations.
• Completes and/or reviews human resource forms for submission to HR, including but not limited to; Recruitment requests, personnel action, and progressive discipline.
Knowledge of:
• General Access Control Point operating procedures, patrol operations and emergency response.
• Applying search & seizure, arrest, use of force procedures.
• Must possess a functional knowledge of personal computer operations in a network environment.
• Electronic devices (i.e., radio and communications, computers, monitors, recording, and photography) and other security equipment.
• Standardized federal laws, regulations, methods, procedures, operating techniques, state, and local laws to perform tasks including, but not limited to, pursuing and apprehending persons fleeing a crime scene; performing dispatcher duties involving passing of directions and information to officers on posting assignments; seeking, detecting, and protecting evidence and witnesses at the scene of an incident; and detaining witnesses and suspects.
• Ability to comprehend a wide variety of security, fire, and environmental alarm systems and the action appropriate in the event of their activation.
• Firearms and tactics utilized in emergency situations.
• Understand and follow Army Regulation (AR), Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) Directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), policy letters and other written guidance.
• Game and Fish Regulations
• Principles and practices of supervision and leading a team in law enforcement duties.
• Electronic security systems.

• Safely operate vehicles in mountainous terrain, unimproved roads, and in adverse weather conditions.
• Render first aid and provide advanced knowledge of response to subordinate personnel.

• Monitor and respond to security equipment, including but not limited to, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and Intrusion Detection System (IDS), phone and radios
• Maintain good civil order of visitors, employees, service members and guard against trespassers and prevent damage to property.
• Provide Security Enforcement at special events
• Oversee a variety of administrative functions.
• Apply, verbally and in writing; laws, regulations, security methodology, directives, and operating techniques in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Complete technical training and be able to respond to calls for Munitions of Concern and Unexploded Ordnance.
• Supervise, motivate, mentor and develop subordinate staff members.
• Work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Desired qualifications include any combination of experience, education, and training that meets the knowledge, skills, and abilities as described. The preferred candidate for this position possesses an Arizona (DPS) Guard Card, has experience working within the Military Police or former law enforcement, and has certification in Physical Security Courses and Anti terrorism Courses. Previous supervisory experience.
Special Job Requirements:
• This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid Arizona state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
• Candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background investigation as well as possess the ability to achieve a favorable Tier 3 investigation for purpose of obtaining/maintaining a Secret clearance eligibility and Common Access Card (CAC).
• Ability to obtain/maintain an AZ Armed and Unarmed Security Guard training certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to qualify on all assigned and issued weapons to include lethal and less than lethal.
